TriCom Technical Services is an information technology staffing firm headquartered in Leawood, KS.[1]. It is an abbreviation of Triple Computer Technical Services, referring to the three types of roles they fill: contract, contract-to-hire, and full-time hire[2].
History
[edit]Matt Sharples co-founded TriCom in 1994 and operated the company from his studio apartment in the Kansas City metropolitan area[3]. In 2012, Sharples was joined by COO Charlie Fossell[4]. Sharples and Fossell established a second TriCom office in St. Louis park, a suburb of the greater Minneapolis-St. Paul area, in 2018[5].
Corporate Affairs
[edit]TriCom's offices are located in the Kansas City[6] and Minneapolis-St. Paul[7] metropolitan areas, but it works with candidates and clients throughout the United States, most frequently in the Midwest[8].
It also works with "nearshore" operations, such as employing contractors in nearby countries for domestic clients such as AMC Theatres[9]. TriCom also conducts various independent surveys focused on IT staffing, such as ones centered on remote work and local markets[10].
Leadership
[edit]TriCom is led by CEO Sharples, COO Fossell, VP of Sales Mike Mooers, and two senior talent advisors, Jim Erhard and Brian Hodge[11].
Finances and Employee Count
[edit]The Business Journals has reported TriCom's estimated revenue to be around $18.7 million and its employee headcount to be around 140, which includes its internal staff as well as candidates and contractors[12].
Accolades
[edit]TriCom has received various accolades pertinent to IT staffing. It has been Great Recruiters certified for five consecutive years, which requires an average Great Recruiters rating of 4.6 or higher and at least 33% of the agency's recruiting team to achieve Great Recruiters certification[13]. It has also received numerous Best of Staffing awards from ClearlyRated for both Client and Talent categories[14].
In 2024, Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA) named TriCom one of five North American winners of the 2024 Best Staffing Firms to Work For award[15]. SIA also named TriCom one of 2024's Best Staffing Firms to Temp For. In 2020, TriCom was recognized by SIA's Fastest Growing US Staffing Firms at No. 69[16]. TriCom was also included on the Inc. 5000 at No. 4,046 in 2020[17]. Forbes listed TriCom as one of America's Best Professional Recruiting Firms in 2017[18]
