This Is Distorted is a British audio and visual media company, specialising in podcasts, radio programmes, documentaries and visual content. It was founded in 2013 by Andi Durrant and Nick Riley, with Alex Jungius later becoming a director. The company has it's HQ and studios[1][2] in Leeds and bases in London and Manchester.

History

[edit]

The first iteration if the company was launched in 2002 as Distorted Productions Ltd - initially as a service company for Riley & Durrant’s music production and remix work, but soon began producing regular programmes for Galaxy FM. With the launch of the Capital FM network in 2011, Distorted created and produced the first weekly Friday and Saturday evening national dance music shows on the network.[3]

In 2013 Andi Durrant and Nick Riley left Capital[4] and founded This Is Distorted with the sole purpose of producing international radio programmes and podcasts for other electronic music artists and brands. Defected, Paul van Dyk, Chicane and Don Diablo were some of the first clients.

As of 2025 Distorted produces content for around 450 international broadcasters and networks such as Sirius XM, iHeart, Kiss, Nova, NRJ, Radio FG, FUN Radio, 538, M20, Virgin, Heart, Slam, and currently syndicates content to around 450 international radio stations.

In addition to traditional radio networks Distorted produces podcasts, content and programming for corporations and brands including the NHS[5], British Airways, Thomson Reuters, Spotify, Find My Past, LNER, Blinkist and Veganuary.

Distorted creates and syndicates around 150 hours of music programming each week.
