Tatgarh or Todgarh is a town located in Ajmer district in Rajasthan, India. It is situated 13 km away from sub-district headquarter Beawar (tehsildar office) and 130 km away from district headquarter Ajmer. Tatgarh town is also a tehsil headquarters.[2]

[edit]Tatgarh has a total population of 2,272 peoples, out of which male population is 1,141 while female population is 1,131. Literacy rate of tatgarh town is 66.90% out of which 80.11% males and 53.58% females are literate. There are about 475 houses in tatgarh village. Pincode of tatgarh town locality is 305924.[3]
Location
[edit]It is located in a small patch of land belonging to Ajmer district but embedded between Pali and Rajsamand districts. Beawar is nearest town to tatgarh for all major economic activities, which is approximately 13 km away.
History
[edit]The people around here were brave and were not coming under the control of anyone during the British rule, then AD. In 1821, Colonel James Todd Political Agent (British Government) from Nasirabad Cantonment came to control these people by loading cannons on elephants. It was not under any king or Rana but Mewar Maharana Bhim Singh of K. named it Todgarh after Colonel Tod and Bhima which is situated 14 km north-east of Todgarh in present Rajsamand district, had the old name of Madla which was renamed as Bhima. In1857 AD During the movement for India's independence in India, the British government based in England, a group of Christian priests from England, in which there were doctors, nurses, etc., to convert the soldiers working in the Indian Army to Christianity, these teams descended from Bombay by water to Mount Mount. Via Abu came Beawar and Todgarh. There was a huge protest in Todgarh and Beawar in protest against the change of religion, due to which the party got divided into Beawar, Nasirabad and Todgarh.
In Todgarh, this group started preaching Christianity under the leadership of a Christian priest named William Robb. In the evening, he went to the nearby settlements for religious conversion and got the church and pastor house / Toad Bungalow (Pragya Shikhar) done during the day. In 1863, the second church of Rajasthan was built on the hill of village Todgarh and built a bungalow for his living on the second hill located in the south, in which the amount has been approved by the state government for the church. The border of Pali district in the west, the end east, north and the end of Rajsamand district in the south, the hills covered with natural scenery are all beauty in itself.
During the First World War 2600 people (soldiers) went to fight from Todgarh area, 124 of them (soldiers) were martyred, in whose memory a building was built by the British Government with the help of pensioner's pension "Fateh Jung Azim" which is called Victory Memorial Dharamshala. is called. (In which it is referred to in the inscription.) In ancient times, the center of the art of Kumbha and the devotion of Meera, the desert Marwar of Mewar Rann Bankure Rathoudo. Between Mewar and Marwar is the Shiromani town of Ajmer district between Navsar and Diver, famous by the address of Haritimayukt Ajmer-Merwada in the inaccessible sub-trees of Aravalli.

Climate
[edit]Due to being a hilly area, the weather here remains cool, the heat is less during the summer days. The average winter temperature here ranges from 16 to 18 degree C and in summer the average temperature ranges from 35 to 40 degree C. The average annual rainfall here is 500 mm. Here the winter season is from October to January, the summer season from February to May and the rainy season from June to September, sometimes it rains from the winter monsoon which is called Maavat.
