| Submission declined on 1 June 2025 by SafariScribe (talk). This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. If you need help with referencing, please see Referencing for beginners and Citing sources. This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

Waduge Mitrhasiri Sunanda Deshapriya (in Sinhala language, වඩුගේ මිත්රසිරි සුනන්ද දේශප්රිය, popularly known as Sunanda Deshapriya, born 1953) is a Sri Lankan journalist.[1][2] His activism began early, having participated in the 1971 JVP Insurrection in Sri Lanka.[3]
In 1979, Deshapriya co-founded the Movement for Inter Racial Justice and Equality (MIRJE).[4]
Deshapriya contributed to establishing the Free Media Movement (FMM) in 1991, an organization aimed at safeguarding press freedom and promoting ethical journalism. He has served as the convener of FMM since 2000.[5][6]
Deshapriya's most recent work, Easter Sunday Attacks in Sri Lanka: Shadow of the Deep State and Unanswered Questions,[7][8][9] delves into the events of 2019 Sri Lanka Easter Bombings, which targeted churches and hotels, resulting in over 260 deaths.[10][11]
