Submission declined on 1 June 2025 by S0091 (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

Steuart L. Pittman Jr. (born September 11, 1961)[1] is an American politician serving as the County Executive of Anne Arundel County, Maryland, since December 3, 2018.[1] A member of the Democratic Party, he was re-elected in 2022 and is term-limited from seeking a third term in 2026.[1]
In addition to his role as County Executive, Steuart Pittman has held key positions on several regional and state boards. He has served on the State Commission on the Capital City[1] , the Board of Visitors for Shock Trauma[1] , and the Anne Arundel County Gun Violence Prevention Task Force.[1] He has been active in regional transit planning through the Central Maryland Regional Transit Plan Commission and the Baltimore Regional Transportation Board, where he was Vice-Chair from 2020 to 2021.[1] He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Baltimore Metropolitan Council[1] and will serve as Chair in 2025.
Background
[edit]Pittman was raised on his family's farm in Davidsonville, Maryland.[2][3] He earned his degree from the University of Chicago[2] and spent several years as a community organizer in Chicago and Des Moines, Iowa, where he worked on neighborhood development, environmental advocacy, and urban reinvestment initiatives. After returning to Maryland, he coordinated programs for national housing and community organizations before establishing a career in farming and horse training. He later founded the Retired Racehorse Project[2], a nonprofit focused on helping former racehorses transition into new roles.
