The 2024 Southern California Wildfires were a series of destructive fires that burned across the region during a particularly severe fire season. Major incidents included:
Mountain Fire (November): Located in Ventura County, it burned thousands of acres and was fueled by strong Santa Ana winds. Its cause remains under investigation. Line Fire (September): This San Bernardino County fire consumed over 26,500 acres, threatening thousands of structures. Airport Fire: Spanning Orange and Riverside Counties, it burned 9,300 acres due to an accidental ignition during fire safety work. Bridge Fire: This Angeles National Forest blaze led to evacuations and road closures. The wildfires collectively caused widespread evacuations, property losses, and environmental damage. Efforts by local and federal agencies included significant firefighting resources and state-declared emergencies to aid affected communities.
