Comment: The page doesn't exist even in jawiki, despite the fact that notability standards are lower there than enwiki. I don't see much independent coverage here, what are the three good and reliable sources that are independent, providing significant coverage? Slow Damage (スロウ・ダメージ, Surō Damēji) is a Japanese BL game Visual novel developed and published by NITRO CHiRAL. The first press edition released in Japan for Windows PCs on February 25, 2021, though customers who ordered through the official Nitroplus Online Store[1] received the game on February 17, 2021.[2][3] Nitro+CHiRAL's scenario writer, Fuchii Kabura, returned to work on this game alongside artist Uiro Yamada, who has been credited as staff on previous Nitroplus titles.[3][4][5]
An official English-language localization by JAST USA was released on November 14, 2022.[6][7][8]
Plot
[edit]Slow Damage takes place at some point during the 21st century in the fictional ward of Shinkoumi (新神海), which is located in Tokyo, Japan and was previously a part of the Tokyo Bay City No. 13 subregion. The country is in the midst of a recession and in an attempt to resolve these economic troubles, the government repurposed this area as a large-scale casino resort due to its historic prosperity. This ward is governed by the corrupt Takasato Group whose only interest is their own financial gain.
The story follows Towa, a resident of Shinkoumi who lives his life in a carefree and apathetic manner, showing no concern for his future. The only thing that captures his interest is painting—more specifically, painting the innermost desires of other people. He often gets in dangerous situations for his art.[9]
Characters
[edit]Towa (トワ, Towa) is the main protagonist of Slow Damage. A lethargic man who lives in the moment without a thought for the future, only reacting to things that catch his interest. He lives in a studio on the third floor of Murase Clinic, where he works as a receptionist. His only hobby is painting, publishing his works under the pen name "euphoria".
Takuma Murase (村瀬 巧真, Murase Takuma) owns and operates one of Shinkoumi's many hospitals, Murase Clinic. He has known Towa since he was a child, looking after him now that they are adults. His patients regard him as a pleasant and friendly person.
Rei Izumi (和泉 礼, Izumi Rei) is one of the staff at the bar Roost, though he also works part-time at Murase Clinic when he isn't busy. A mood maker who cares about other people's well-being. He's friends with both Towa and Taku.
Kei Madarame (斑目 圭, Madarame Kei) is a mysterious man who has ties to the Takasato Group. He went missing several years ago. He has suddenly reappeared before Towa, whom he had a connection with in the past, and seems to be pursuing him.
Ryo Fujieda (藤枝 涼, Fujieda Ryo) is the Takasato Organization's corporate lawyer. He comes across as very cold and robotic. Treats Towa with disdain.[10]
Music
[edit]The opening theme of the game, "il", was written and performed by the two-person group Anna Evans golden folks. The opening sequence is available on YouTube.[11]
Other musicians featured in the game's soundtrack include THE ANDS, GOATBED, ARKTA, and KiRi.[12]

There are currently eleven chapters available.

[edit]In 2022, a series of drama CDs titled AfterStory was released. It has a total of four volumes, with each volume serving as a mini-sequel to the Euphoria ending of each of Towa's love interests.
Mobile game
[edit]Slow Damage: Clean Dishes is a free-to-play browser mobile game released on April 27, 2021.[16] It is a spinoff game focusing on the titular group Clean Dishes. They are a cleaning service that clean up rooms where people have recently died. The game contains new characters along with returning characters form the main game.
Trivia
[edit]- Nitro+CHiRAL had a native Chinese employee speak the Chinese phrases as reference for Mayu's voice actor when he records the character's lines.[17]
- Kabura Fuchii had specifically requested for Towa's voice actor to be cast as the character after hearing his performance as an (unspecified) uke character.[18]
