Draft:Shpig

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shpigs are a fantasy creature blending the traits of a shark and a pig.

A shpig is a striking hybrid, merging the sleek ferocity of a shark with the rugged adaptability of a pig. Its physical appearance is both awe-inspiring and bizarre. The shpig boasts a torpedo-shaped body, streamlined like a shark’s for swift movement through water, yet its skin is thick, bristly, and coarse, resembling a pig’s hide. This mottled gray-and-pink exterior helps it blend into murky coastal waters and earthy shorelines. The head is a peculiar mix: a pig-like snout twitches with a keen sense of smell, while a gaping mouth reveals sharp, serrated shark teeth, perfect for shredding prey. It has stubby pig legs and a prominent dorsal fin that juts from its back, and its tail—a powerful, shark-like caudal fin that propels it gracefully through aquatic realms. Shpigs have slightly acidic saliva that melts down metals. shpigs can range from 15 to 60 feet in length. The only way to kill a shpig is to blind the outer eyes, then shot the middle eye when its open to pierce the brain.

In behavior, the shpig is a carnivore eating any meat it comes across. It will also attack ships out at sea for metal to toughen its skin. This solitary creature is territorial, guarding its space with a low, guttural growl or a swift charge. Yet, it’s also intelligent and curious, often investigating its surroundings and adapting to new challenges with cunning.

The shpigs habitat are deep sea trenches, they rest in under water caves and will rise to the suffuse in search of food and metal. They live in groups of 44 to 169, and are also very organized creatures.

Some people may ask. How do you get close enough to blind the outer eyes without the shpig noticing? You will need a distraction and long ranged weapons like guns or missiles. Are there any tools such as a blinding substance that could make this safer or easier? No!!! There is no way to make it easier!! If the middle eye is injured but the brain isn’t pierced, can the shpig recover or keep fighting? Yes it will recover but it will be a lot more vicious so its recommended to get it right THE FIRST TRY!!
