Sharon Seno (born 12th June 1994) is a Motswana actress, model and media professional based in south Africa[1] . She is best known for her role as Marang on a SABC 2 soap opera, Muvhango. She also wrote a memoir on modeling and beauty pageants [2].
Early life
[edit]Sharon Seno was born to Naledi Seno in Kanye village in Botswana[2]. She is has an older and a younger brother.[2]. While in Botswana, her mother used to take her for TV shows and auditions for adverts to build her self-esteem. She was later approached by a modelling scout which marked the start on her modelling career[1].
Career
[edit]Seno was given the role of Marang Motsoaledi by Michael Mosipidi of ABOSPA and Duma ka Ndlovu from Word-of-Mouth Productions.[1] Her character in Muvhango is a personal assistant who works for Moliehi Motsamai and James Motsamai in a company called Qalabosha. She became famous for her role after her character shared a kiss with James, another character in the soap opera.[2] Before her role in Muvhango, Sharon starred ibn Botswana drama series such as Colors and Ntwakgolo. She was also a Miss Botswana 2013 top 5 finalist[3]. She moved to Johannesburg in 2018 where she had lots of unsuccessful auditions but was later chosen after auditioning for a role in Muvhango.[2] She is the founder of the Models Empowerment Association in Botswana, which mentors young models.[3]
