Seven Factor is an American industrial rock project founded in 2015 by audio engineer and producer Seven Dunbar. The project blends cinematic music production, conceptual visuals, and immersive storytelling. It first gained attention through viral horror-themed video montages and later drew national media coverage surrounding the disappearance of keyboardist Leah Rose, known as Little Sister.

History

[edit]

Formation and Early Viral Success

[edit]

Following the hiatus of Dunbar’s previous band, Human Factors Lab, Seven Factor was formed as a new creative outlet. The project gained early momentum through a series of one-minute horror montage videos shared on Facebook, each paired with original music. These videos helped the Seven Factor page grow to over one million followers. The music was later released under the title Creepy as an album and series of singles.

Touring and Live Lineup

[edit]

Seven Factor began touring nationally in 2015, including a run with industrial rock pioneers KMFDM. During this tour, guitarist John C. Hall joined as a live member and contributed to the band's debut EP, LUX. Additional guitar work on LUX was performed by Steve White of KMFDM.

The current live lineup includes:

  • Seven Dunbar – vocals, programming, sound design (permanent member)
  • Thomas Crawford – guitars
  • Eric "Zero" Bergen – bass
  • Senior Darq – drums (formerly of Human Factors Lab, returned in 2024)
  • John C. Hall – live guitarist and contributor to LUX
  • Steve White – guest guitarist on LUX

Although artists such as Nero Bellum and Chris Vrenna have collaborated with the project, they are not official members. All musicians aside from Dunbar are considered live members.

Disappearance of Little Sister

[edit]

Seven Factor received national media attention following the disappearance of keyboardist Leah Rose, known as Little Sister. Her case contributed to the project’s mysterious public profile and remains a key element of its evolving mythos.

Access Card Campaign

[edit]

In 2025, Seven Factor launched a campaign involving individually numbered Access Cards hidden in real-world locations. Finders were given exclusive music and visual content and were encouraged to re-hide the cards as part of an ongoing story. Though immersive, the campaign serves as a supporting element to the project’s music and narrative framework.

Musical Style

[edit]

Seven Factor blends industrial rock, ambient soundscapes, electronic textures, and cinematic scoring. The music is characterized by layered synths, heavy guitars, and emotionally driven vocals. Themes often include identity, surveillance, loss, and transformation, often tied to an overarching narrative and visual world.
