The Serving Scholar Program provides support for University of Guelph students serving concurrently in the Canadian Armed Forces. The Program was created to address the needs and challenges unique to students serving in the military while pursuing their studies.
The program accommodates students balancing academic achievement with military service by streamlining academic processes, addressing assignment conflicts and implementing flexible submission timelines.
Serving Scholar was founded by Dr. John Walsh, School of Languages and Literatures. The program was launched at the University of Guelph launch in 2019 and in 2024, adopted by the University of Windsor.
