Dr Samrat Kar is an Indian psychiatrist, medical educator, and author based in Cuttack, Odisha. He is known for his work in mental health awareness, psychiatric education, and clinical psychiatry. Kar has held leadership roles in the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Odisha and the Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) and has authored several books on mental health.[1]

Early Life and Education

Kar earned his MBBS from MKCG Medical College, Berhampur, Odisha, and completed his MD in Psychiatry from Mamata Medical College, Khammam.[2]

Career

Kar practices at The Brain and Research Center, Cuttack. He has contributed to mental health policies and public health initiatives through his involvement with IMA Odisha and IPS.[3]

Kar is the son of Prof. Dr. Gopal Chandra Kar, a psychiatrist and former Director of Medical Education and Training (DMET), Odisha. His father also served as President of the Indian Psychiatric Society (2000-01).[9]
