SUMIFAI is a software application that uses artificial intelligence to assist with spreadsheet-based data analysis and visualisation. The product focuses on workflows in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, providing natural-language formula generation, automated charts, and optional geospatial outputs such as interactive maps and distance matrices.[1]
The company exhibited in the Alpha startup programme at Web Summit Lisbon 2025 in the "Data & analytics" category.[2]
Overview
[edit]SUMIFAI describes itself as a spreadsheet-native assistant rather than a standalone BI platform, aiming to keep users within existing Excel or Google Sheets environments while automating formula writing, chart suggestions and narrative insights. The product also supports generation of interactive geographic maps and travel-time calculations for business datasets.[1]
History
[edit]The product launched publicly in 2025 and was listed as an Alpha exhibitor at Web Summit Lisbon 2025.[2]
Features
[edit]- Natural-language assistance for formulas and spreadsheet functions in Excel and Google Sheets.[1]
 - Automatic visualisation suggestions and chart generation.[1]
 - Geospatial outputs, including interactive maps and distance/travel-time matrices.[1]
 - Narrative summaries of datasets and results within spreadsheet contexts.[1]

Founding and leadership
[edit]SUMIFAI was founded by Milan Kajkut, a former employee of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and later a Data and Digitalization Manager in Austria’s private industrial sector. Kajkut holds a master’s degree in business from the University of Vienna.[3] During his studies, Kajkut authored a university thesis that addressed topics in optimisation and robotics.[4]
Reception
[edit]As of November 2025, substantial independent coverage in reliable secondary sources has not been widely documented. The company’s Web Summit Alpha listing confirms participation in the conference’s startup programme.[2]
