Draft:SCC Arbitration Institute
SCC Arbitration Institute (SCC Skiljedomsinstitut; until 2023, Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce) is an international arbitration organisation founded in 1917 by the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce [sv]. It is notable as one of the main providers of arbitration services.[1]
Arbitration is handled under either SCC rules, or United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITL) rules.[2] From the start of 2023, new updated rules and increased pricing were introduced.[3] From 2023 the formal name was shortened.[3]
At the start of 2024 SCC appointed a new board.[4] As of January 2025[update] the secretary general was Caroline Falcon.[5]
Following two rulings by the Court of Justice of the European Union, SCC adjusted its rules for handling arbitration cases within the European Union after 2024,[6] these would now be heard at locations aside of the European Union.[1]
