Radical Coaching is an approach to personal development and coaching that integrates deep work with intuition, inner stability, authenticity, and conscious decision-making. It is based on the belief that true change does not arise from external motivation, but from connection with one's inner compass.
Characteristics
[edit]Radical Coaching does not focus solely on performance goals, but rather on deeper understanding of who the client is, what their inner direction is, and what prevents them from living authentically. Emphasis is placed on silence, mindful observation, intuitive knowing, and the courage to act in accordance with one’s true self.
Inspirations and Theoretical Foundations
[edit]The concept of Radical Coaching is interdisciplinary and draws from a variety of sources, including:
- The Czech spiritual and philosophical tradition – especially Jan Amos Comenius (inner light and holistic education), Jan Hus (ethical courage), Tomáš Špidlík (theology of the heart), and Jan Patočka (care for the soul in public life)
- Neuroscience and somatic approaches – especially research into the connection between the brain, nervous system, and intuition (e.g., Antonio Damasio, Stephen Porges)
- The philosophy and pedagogy of Comenius – emphasizing inner development and integral education
- Tantric Buddhism and contemplative practice – particularly the work of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, emphasizing authenticity and discipline
- Paracelsian medicine and natural philosophy – highlighting the uniqueness of each human being and the unity of body, soul, and spirit
- Rudolf Steiner's anthroposophy – for its insights into human development and spiritual laws
- Goethean phenomenological science – focused on conscious perception and the cultivation of inner sensitivity
Founder
[edit]The founder of the Radical Coaching approach is Czech andragogue, coach, and therapist Radek Cipov[1]. In his work, he integrates academic knowledge of adult education with spiritual traditions and intuitive insight. He is the author of educational programs and seminars focused on deep personal transformation. He also regularly publishes on topics related to intuition, inner clarity, and personal growth.[2]
Practical Use
[edit]Radical Coaching is applied in individual coaching, self-experience workshops, corporate training, and in development concepts focused on leadership, values-based orientation, and emotional intelligence.
