Pubfront ApS is a Danish software company that develops digital publishing and distribution platforms. It is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark.[1] The company was originally founded as Riidr ApS in March 2010.[1] In 2014, it sold its consumer-facing business, Riidr.com, to JP/Politikens Hus and continued operations as a B2B technology provider under the name Pubfront.[2]
History
[edit]Pubfront was incorporated in 2010 as Riidr ApS, with a focus on developing e-reading applications tailored to the Scandinavian market.[1] Its initial platform allowed users to purchase and read e-books across devices.
In 2012, the company partnered with Swedish digital retailer Bokon.se to expand into the Swedish market.[3] In 2013, it entered the Norwegian market via a platform partnership with EBOK.NO, which went on to become a leading digital book service in Norway.[3]
In November 2014, Riidr.com was acquired by JP/Politikens Hus, a major Danish media group.[2] Following the sale, the company was renamed Pubfront ApS and shifted focus exclusively to white-label digital distribution platforms for publishers and media organizations.
Products
[edit]Digital Publishing Platform
[edit]Pubfront’s core technology provides a white-label e-commerce and content delivery system that supports digital rights management, user management, and access across multiple devices.[3] The system has been used by various Nordic publishers and booksellers, including Bokon.se and EBOK.NO.[3]
Audiorista
[edit]In 2019, Pubfront launched Audiorista, a no-code platform that enables content creators and publishers to launch custom-branded iOS and Android applications for audio and multimedia content.[4] The platform includes tools for content management, subscription-based monetization, payment processing (via Stripe and RevenueCat), analytics, and third-party integrations.[5]
Clients and Partnerships
[edit]Pubfront's technology has been implemented by several notable partners:
- EBOK.NO, a Norwegian e-book and audiobook retailer.[3]
- Bokon.se, a Swedish digital bookstore.[3]
- Politiken Books, a Danish subscription service launched by JP/Politikens Hus using Pubfront’s backend technology.[3]
Media Coverage
[edit]Pubfront and its products have been featured in both Danish and international media. In 2014, Danish tech outlet Trendsonline.dk profiled the company’s transition toward audiobooks and white-label distribution.[6] That same year, Good E-Reader published an article highlighting Riidr’s white-label e-book platform and its impact in the Nordic market.[7]
Company Overview
[edit]Pubfront is a privately held company based in Copenhagen and has not received external venture funding.[8] Its current focus is on developing scalable SaaS solutions for content distribution under the Audiorista brand.[4]
