Prashanth55 is the tentative working title of an upcoming Indian Tamil-language film written and directed by Hari with Prashanth in the lead role, signifying the reunion of Hari and Prashanth, after their previous film Thamizh (2002). The film is produced by Shanthi Thiagarajan and Preethi Thiagarajan under Prashanth's home banner Staar Movies.

[edit]On 6 April 2025 coinciding with Prashanth’s 52nd birthday, his next film after Andhagan (2024) in the lead role was tentatively titled Prashanth55,[1] written and directed by Hari who last directed Rathnam (2024).[2] The film marks the reunion of Hari and Prashanth after 23 years[3] who first collaborated in Thamizh (2002) which also signifies the debut directorial film of Hari.[4] The film is produced by Shanthi Thiagarajan and Preethi Thiagarajan under Prashanth's home banner Staar Movies.[5][6]
Filming
[edit]In early-April 2025, it was reported that the principal photography would begin in Chennai by June 2025.[7]
