Prashant Madanmohan (born 1985), known by his pen-name Dr Leander, is an Indian orthopaedic surgeon, author and cultural curator who is also an Armenian cultural ambassador, Indo-Armenian historian, writer and cultural commentator. He is renowned in the area of Armenian French Indian cultural synergy, historical legacy. He is credited for the curation of the first International Armenian-French-Indian art and literary confluence.[1] He is founder and editor-in-chief of Cognishift.org, Cognishift Insider[2] a platform promoting dialogue between medicine, memory studies, philosophy and the arts. His books, novels and curated art-literary events have received attention in both medical and cultural spheres.
Early life and education
[edit]Prashant Madanmohan was born in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu in 1985. He earned his MBBS and MD from Yerevan State Medical University, Armenia, completed an internship at Madras Medical College, Chennai, and received his Orthopaedic Diplomate of National Board in Chennai.[3]
Medical career
[edit]Since 2002, Madanmohan has practiced medicine in Chennai, and since 2009 has specialized as an orthopaedic surgeon. He is registered with the National Medical Commission of India.[4]
Literary career
[edit]Madanmohan writes under the pseudonym Dr Leander. His major publications include:
- The Monk With A Stethoscope (2023), a fictional-philosophical memoir exploring mind control and memory mastery.[5]
- Armenian Spiritual Sanctuaries (2024), documenting Armenian church art and its diaspora significance.[6]
- The God of Deserted Memories (2025), a 500-page philosophical novel examining cultural legacies of India, Armenia and France.[7]
- He has written extensively about the Armenian genocide and a vocal critic of cultural erasure and amnesia.
- He has given a treatise on Fabricism as a philosophy to unite the world in his book.[8]
- Armenian Legacy in India (2025), tracing two centuries of Indo-Armenian ties and published by Cognishift.org.[9][10][11]
- The book was critically acclaimed by renowned artist Lems Nersisyan [12]. He also wrote a biography of Armenian artist-pedagogue Lems Nersisyan in English in 2023 in Chennai, India [13][14].

- The God of Deserted Memories Confluence (Chennai, May 2025): A week-long art and literary festival with Armenian artist Mari Poghosyan. Featured 42 original paintings, book launch and diplomatic participation from French and Armenian missions.[17][18]
- Annual Monalisa D’Amour Awards (May 10, 2025): Inaugural Cognishift.org women’s literary and arts awards held on Mother’s Day, honouring Tamil poet Manohari Madan.[19]
- Armenian Church Christmas (January 6, 2025): Curated Indo-Armenian Christmas celebrations at Chennai Armenian Church, attended by Indian and Armenian diplomats.[20]
