Picklehack Rule Set
Game Setup
• A net, 1 yard in height, is required. The players' preferences can determine the
length of the net.
• The game uses one large hacky sack with a diameter of 2.5 inches.
Serving
• A player from the opposing team must underhand toss the hacky sack at least 2 feet
away from the net to serve.
Scoring Points
For Teams of 2:
• 1 Point: To score one point, a team must volley the hacky sack between teammates
at least once before hitting it to the opposing side.
• 2 Points: To score two points, the hacky sack must be volleyed back to the
teammate who made the first contact before hitting it to the opposing side.
For Teams of 3:
• 1 Point: To score one point, the hacky sack must be volleyed to at least one other
teammate before being sent to the opposing side.
• 2 Points: To score two points, the hacky sack must be volleyed between all three
teammates at least once before hitting it to the opposing side.
Special Scoring Rules
The Ace
• An "ace" occurs when the team being served fails to make any contact with the
hacky sack. The serving team is awarded 1 point.
The 3-Pointer
• A team can earn 3 points at the start of a volley during a serve by:
1. Hitting the hacky sack above the waist during the serve.
2. Following the 2-point scoring rule (as described above) before sending the hacky sack to the opposing side.
Gameplay Notes
• If the hacky sack is sent to the opposing side before making contact with the floor,no points are awarded.
• If the game is played adjacent to a wall, the hacky sack must make contact within 2 feet of the net to score points
