[edit]PhoneArena covers the latest developments in the mobile technology and consumer electronics industries. The platform focuses on breaking news, product announcements, software updates, industry trends, and carrier news.
Reviews & comparisons
[edit]The PhoneArena team reviews mobile devices, tablets, wearables and other consumer electronics. Reviews often include benchmark testing, performance assessments, camera evaluations, and battery life testing.[5][6][7] In 2017, Business Insider referenced PhoneArena's battery life testing results in an article on smartphone performance.[7]
Camera evaluations feature real-world testing of photography and video recording capabilities, often including side-by-side comparisons between competing devices. Battery life is also analyzed to measure performance under various usage scenarios.
PhoneArena follows a standardized review methodology that incorporates objective measurements and real-world usage scenarios, based on defined criteria and testing protocols.[5]

Reception
[edit]PhoneArena's reports have been cited by technology media outlets internationally, including The Verge, TechCrunch, and Business Insider. It is recognized for its product leaks, battery life tests, and analysis of mobile industry trends.
In a 2022 profile by Forbes Bulgaria, PhoneArena was described as a company that successfully grew from a personal project into a business valued at approximately 25 million Bulgarian lev (about $14 million USD).[2]
History
[edit]PhoneArena was founded in 2001 by Pressian Karakostov while studying Computer Science at the Florida Metropolitan University in Florida, USA.[2][8]
Initially, PhoneArena was treated as a side project while Karakostov was studying and subsequently working in the USA. Aside from maintaining the website in his spare time, he was also writing all phone reviews. Subsequently, a couple of employees were hired to help with content creation on the website, mainly with reviews.
In 2005, Karakostov moved back to Varna, Bulgaria, and fully dedicated himself to the PhoneArena project.
PhoneArena has been recognized as a source of exclusive mobile industry news and product leaks. In 2008, TechCrunch cited PhoneArena for publishing early images of Motorola's VU30 mobile phone.[9] The website has also been referenced by The Verge for reports on Samsung product releases[10] and OnePlus device leaks.[11]
