One Click LCA Ltd. is a global software company headquartered in Helsinki, Finland that develops tools for life-cycle assessment (LCA) and embodied carbon analysis. Founded in 2001 by software engineer Panu Pasanen in Helsinki, the company provides a cloud-based platform used for environmental performance assessment, regulatory compliance, and sustainability reporting in over 170 countries.[1][2]

Overview

[edit]

One Click LCA offers tools to calculate and manage environmental impacts across construction product manufacturing, infrastructure, chemicals, and other supply chains across industries. The platform automates life-cycle assessment (LCA) and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) creation,[3] and integrates with more than 20 software applications, including Autodesk Revit and Bentley Systems.[4]

The company maintains a global environmental database containing over 500,000 datasets, one of the largest of its kind.[5] Its tools support compliance with European sustainability regulations such as the Construction Products Regulation (EU No 305/2011), the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) from the European Commission, and the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive 2024.[6]

History

[edit]

One Click LCA was founded in 2001 by software engineer Panu Pasanen in Helsinki, Finland.[7] The platform was developed to simplify life-cycle assessment in the construction industry.[8]

In 2023, private equity firms PSG Equity and InfraVia Capital Partners invested €40 million in growth capital.[1][9] In 2024, the company acquired ENVI-met, a German provider of microclimate simulation software.[10] In 2025, One Click LCA acquired SimaPro, a LCA platform developed by Dutch company PRé Sustainability.[11]

Technology

[edit]

The One Click LCA platform combines automated data import, environmental impact modelling, and AI-assisted LCA generation. Its artificial intelligence capabilities are used to accelerate EPD production and material benchmarking.[12] The company describes its goal as “powering one million makers of a zero-carbon future by 2035.”[13]

Industry collaborations

[edit]

One Click LCA has formed partnerships with several organizations and projects to advance carbon reduction in the built environment, including Heathrow Airport, AECOM, and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).[14][15][16]
