Nuriddin Samatov (born November 2, 1999) is an Uzbek environmental researcher and ICT specialist known for his work on climate risk assessments, sustainable resource management, and digital innovation. He has participated in international initiatives such as Huawei's Seeds for the Future program and the ITU Generation Connect Young Leadership Programme.[1][2]
Early life and education
[edit]Samatov studied economics and information technologies at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies, focusing on the application of ICT to environmental sustainability challenges.[3]
Career
[edit]Samatov works at the Research Institute of Environment and Nature Conservation Technologies under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of Uzbekistan.[1] He has conducted research on climate risk assessments, crop modeling, and hydrological analysis.
In 2023, he participated as a visiting scholar at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) under the Global Young Talents Program.[4]
Samatov contributed to Huawei’s Seeds for the Future program in 2022, where he was involved in developing digital sustainability solutions.[5]
Research and publications
[edit]Samatov has co-authored several peer-reviewed scientific articles, including work on soil science, strategic environmental assessments, and microbial communities under climate stress.[6][7][8]
Recognition
[edit]In 2024, Samatov was appointed as the Country Representative for Uzbekistan in the Young Professionals for Agricultural Development (YPARD) network.[9]
He was also selected for the ITU Generation Connect Young Leadership Programme in partnership with Huawei, focusing on global digital development and innovation projects.[10]
His participation in the World Internet Conference Global Youth Leadership program was also recognized internationally.[11]
