Nasra Bashir Ali is the Deputy Director of Communications and Public Relations of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia and Deputy Spokesperson of the Federal Government of Somalia.[1][2][3]
Background
[edit]Bashir Ali has a long history in the Prime Minister's Office, where she began working in 2014 as a special correspondent for Somali state media in the Prime Minister's Office.[1] She worked as a special correspondent and press secretary for five prime ministers as Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed, Omar Sharmarke, Hassan Ali Khaire, Mohamed Hussein Roble, and Hamza Abdi Barre.[4]
Bashir Ali previously worked as a field reporter and parliamentary reporter for Somali National Television.[5] She received the 2020 Mogadishu Annual Award for accurate and balanced reporting on government activities.[6]
