Career

[edit]

Chebbine started his career in 1987 at EPTV, Algeria, as the chief editor and news program presenter before he started producing a series of documentaries about the Palestinian conflict and the Lebanese war.[2]

He also focused on field coverage, which took him to Geneva, Beirut, Taif, and Bamako. In the early 90s, he hosted a political talk show, Meet the Press (Rencontres avec la presse), where he hosted several political figures live on air.[2]

His talk show hosted presidents Chadli Benjedid, Muhammad Boudiaf, and Ahmed Ben Bella, as well as political figures such as Said Saadi Hussein Ait Ahmed Abbasi Madani, Mahfoud Nahnah, Ahmed Mahsas, Abdelhamid Mehri Ben Youssef Ben Khedda, Mouloud Hamrouche, and Sid Ahmed Ghazali.[2]

In 1995, he relocated to the United Arab Emirates, joined Abu Dhabi Media (ADM) as the TV editor-in-chief, and held that position until 2006. During this period, he supervised several event coverages in Iran, Kosovo, the Emirates, Jordan, Syria, Algeria, and Iraq.[2]

In 2006, he moved to the United States and started working as a senior coordinating producer for the Middle East Broadcasting Networks, where he worked from 2006 to 2011 in Springfield, Virginia, USA.[2]

From 2011 to 2012, he served as the Washington Bureau's senior producer, coordinating news coverage from the US Capital.

He returned to Abu Dhabi in 2012 and worked as an executive producer at Sky News Arabia, where he organized the news team and coordinated with several producers and editors until 2017. He was then promoted to senior executive producer and continued his work at Sky News Arabia until 2024. In this role, he managed performance and development for the broadcast team, conducted annual performance planning, and provided feedback to enhance the quality of news coverage.

In 2024, he moved to a role in planning and news operations at Sky News Arabia, where he continues contributing to the network.
