Most Disturbed Person on Planet Earth (commonly abbreviated as MDPOPE) is a video mixtape series that compiles graphic and controversial footage sourced from the internet. It is known for its extreme content, which includes real-life violence, medical procedures, accidents, and other disturbing material. The series is often discussed in underground film communities for its attempt to push the limits of viewer tolerance.
Overview
[edit]The series was created and edited by a person using the pseudonym Thomas Extreme Cinemagore. He has described himself as "the most disturbed person on the planet Earth", reflecting the tone and objective of the compilation. The first installment of MDPOPE appeared online in 2013, and quickly developed a cult following.
Unlike traditional documentaries, MDPOPE lacks narration or context. It presents clips in rapid succession with minimal structure, often accompanied sometimes by alternative rock of 2010, or ambient noise. The goal appears to be to expose viewers to a barrage of psychologically distressing visuals.
Content
[edit]The MDPOPE series is composed of hundreds of clips sourced from obscure websites, forums, and peer-to-peer networks. These clips are presented without context and span a wide range of disturbing subject matter, including:
- Real-world violence and murder:
Features assassinations, cartel executions, CCTV murders, and war crimes. Notably includes the infamous video 1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick involving Luka Magnotta, in which he murders and dismembers Lin Jun in 2012.
- Suicides and executions:
Includes self-inflicted gunshots, hanging, jumping from heights, and leaked footage of capital punishment.
- Accidents and fatal incidents:
Footage of car crashes, workplace fatalities, industrial accidents, and electrocutions—many resulting in death and often captured on live video.
- Medical procedures and anomalies:
Graphic footage of surgeries, tumors, birth defects, untreated infections, and exposed internal organs. Some scenes involve unsanitary or third-world medical conditions.
- Self-harm and body mutilation:
Covers extreme body modifications, amateur surgery, and self-inflicted injuries involving knives, razors, and other sharp objects. Often taken from shock sites and underground forums.
- Pornographic and fetish content:
Includes non-simulated sexual acts considered taboo or extreme. This involves scenes of coprophilia (the consumption or smearing of feces during sexual activity), vomit fetishes, zoophilia, and necrophilic imagery (Interestingly, none of the films include pedophilia videos). The inclusion of such content has drawn heavy criticism and accusations of illegality.
- Other disturbing material:
Includes footage of cult rituals, zoosadism, psychological torture, and bizarre performances involving bodily fluids and degradation. Some clips are accompanied by alternative rock and ambient noise, while others are completely silent, increasing the discomfort.
Each installment escalates in intensity, with MDPOPE 3 reportedly containing over 300 clips spanning all categories, often including children events (something that rarely happened in the previous two films).
Reception and Controversy
[edit]Due to the nature of its content, MDPOPE has been heavily criticized. Many argue that it has no artistic, educational, or journalistic merit. It has been banned or removed from multiple platforms and is typically distributed unofficially.
Ethical concerns have also been raised about the use of real death and violence in entertainment media, as well as the potential illegality of some of the material included. Despite this, the series has a cult following in the extreme horror community.
Availability
[edit]MDPOPE is not available through legal or mainstream channels. It is mostly shared through private collectors or underground networks. Because of its graphic nature, access is generally limited to specific online forums and file-sharing platforms.
