Moore Inventor Fellows is an annual award program launched in 2016 by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation to support early-career researchers and scientist-inventors working on high-risk, high-impact innovations. Each fellow receives $825,000 over three years, including $675,000 from the Foundation and $150,000 from their home institution.[1]
Overview
[edit]The program was designed to celebrate Gordon Moore’s legacy of innovation and to encourage the next generation of inventors. Each year, five fellows are selected from nominations submitted by U.S. universities and research institutions. Eligible nominees must be within ten years of receiving their terminal degree and demonstrate a passion for inventiveness and potential for societal impact.[2]
