[edit]

Hobbs resides in Wilmington, North Carolina, where he has been actively involved in the local film industry since 2003.[30] He serves on the Board of Directors for the New Hanover County Park Conservancy, an organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing public parks and recreational facilities in the region.[31]

His production work frequently draws inspiration from his rural upbringing in Sampson County, North Carolina, particularly the community values he experienced in Roseboro.[32] Hobbs has mentioned in interviews that his father, William Radford Hobbs, was a World War II veteran and served as a town commissioner in Roseboro.[33] These early influences reportedly shaped his approach to community-focused storytelling.

Hobbs maintains professional collaborations with several entertainment figures, including broadcaster Valerie Smaldone and actor Erik Estrada. Their work together on projects like Divine Renovation and The Thursday Night Club has been described in industry publications as having a familial quality.[34] However, the nature of these personal relationships remains outside public documentation.

The philosophy behind Hobbs' production company, Just Do GOOD Entertainment, reflects personal values rooted in his Southern upbringing.[35] The company's focus on kindness and community service initiatives mirrors themes from his childhood in rural North Carolina. These values are evident in projects like Finding Kindness, which highlights grassroots humanitarian efforts.

Hobbs' commitment to his home state extends beyond filmmaking. He has advocated for North Carolina's film industry growth, opposing measures that might deter productions from the region.[36] This regional focus demonstrates how his personal connection to North Carolina continues to influence both his life and career choices.
