Comment: Date of birth and family members are unsourced. Some puffery needs to be toned down as well. MediaKyle (talk) 19:28, 10 August 2025 (UTC)

Maximillion Fife Alexander Cooper (born 7 June 1972).[1] is a British entrepreneur, former fashion model, and former race car driver. He is best known as the Founder and CEO of Gumball 3000, an annual international celebrity motor rally that combines automobiles, music, fashion, and popular culture.[2]
Early life and education
[edit]Cooper was born in Stone, Staffordshire, England. He studied fashion design at Central Saint Martins in London, where his contemporaries included Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney.[2]
He comes from a creative background as both of his parents were musicians, with his father later becoming an abstract painter. During this time, he became very fond of motorsports, with a particular interest in Formula 1. Cooper later studied Law and Film at the University of Sussex[3].
Early Career
[edit]In the 1990s, Cooper was represented by Elite Model Management and appeared in campaigns for global fashion brands includinfg Giorgio Armani and Ralph Lauren.[4] His modeling career financed his ambition to become a racing driver, and he competed with privateer McLaren and Porsche teams throughout Europe.[5][6]
In 1998, Cooper attempted to purchase the Tyrrell Formula One team[7] for £12.5 million as part of a wider investment group; the team was eventually sold to British American Tobacco and rebranded to become the BAR Formula 1 Team.[8]
Gumball 3000
[edit]In 1999, Cooper hosted the inaugural Gumball 3000 Rally in 1999, initially as a one-off event intended as a fun, networking-focused road trip for his friends and associates across Europe.[9][10] However, the event was so well received by participants and media outlets that Cooper decided to turn the Gumball 3000 rally into an annual event and lifestyle brand. The first Gumball 300 rally was featured in mainstream news and lifestyle magazines such as GQ and Esquire, leading to an immediate increase in popularity. [11]
Over the years, the Gumball 3000 brand has expanded into fashion, music, film, and philanthropy.[2] The brands inaugural rally had an entry fee of $8,700.[12] The rally has attracted various celebrities, including Johnny Knoxville and the cast of Jackass[13], who participated in the 2001 edition.[14]
Their most recent rally occurred in September 2025, where the brand celebrated its 26th Anniversary with a route starting in Istanbul, Türkiye and finishing in Ibiza.[15]
Philanthropy
[edit]In 2013, Cooper established the Gumball 3000 Foundation to support underprivileged youth through educational and recreational projects. The foundation has partnered with Laureus Sport for Good, The Skatepark Project (formerly the Tony Hawk Foundation), and other organizations.[16][17] Since 2013, the Gumball 3000 Foundation has raised over $8,000,000 through fundraising activites that take place throughout the year, including during the Annual Gumball 3000 Rally.[18]
Personal life
[edit]Cooper married American rapper and actress Eve[19] in June 2014.[20] The couple had originally met on the 2010 edition of the Gumball 3000 Rally, where Eve first joined as an entrant.[21] The couple has one son, Wilde Wolf Fife Alexander Somers Cooper, born in February 2022.[22][23] Cooper also has four children—Lotus, Jagger, Cash, and Mini—from a previous marriage[24]
Net worth
[edit]As of 2025, Cooper's net worth is estimated at approximately £55 million.[25][26]
