Manya Singh is an Indian model and actor. In 2021 she was the first runners up at the Femina Miss India 2020.

Early life

[edit]

Singh was born in Hata, a town near Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh (UP), to Omprakash and Manorama Singh. She was raised in a traditional family where she was not even allowed to wear sleeveless dresses. Her father was an auto-rickshaw driver and the family was under financial hardships. She studied at Lohiya Inter College in Sahwa, UP.[1]

Singh left her home when she was 14 years old to avoid poverty. She wanted to be a doctor. She later reached Mumbai to pursued her ambition.[2] She often worked in odd jobs as a restaurant waiter.[3] She graduated in 2019 from Thakur College of Science and Commerce.[4]

Career

[edit]

Singh participated in the Femina Miss India 2020 and was placed first runner-up.[5] In February 2021, her alma mater, Thakur College of Science and Commerce, celebrated her success with an auto-rickshaw rally in Mumbai.[6] Her father led the rally with his auto.[7]

Singh participated in Bigg Boss 16 in late 2022.[8]
