Mae Flores is a Filipina-American actress, singer, and activist known for her work in film and for her advocacy supporting survivors of sexual assault and gender-based violence. She is the founder of Light Me Up, a performance-based empowerment initiative for survivors, and has delivered talks and workshops on resilience and gender equality, including a TEDx presentation titled "I’m Still Here".[1][2]
Early life and education
[edit]Flores was born in the Philippines and immigrated to the United States with her family at age 11. She grew up in Chicago, Illinois, where she studied ballet, modern dance, and theatre. She later attended Columbia College Chicago, majoring in modern dance, choreography, and performance.[3]
