Early life and education

Dr. Luke Neill was born in Upstate New York, United States and pursued a career in medicine, earning his Undergraduate & Medical Degree from the University of Vermont. He completed his residency training in Emergency Medicine at Northwestern followed by a Clinical Operations and Administrative Fellowship at Northwestern Memorial HealthCare. In addition he received his MBA from the Northwestern Kellogg School of Management.[1][2]

Career

Luke co-founded Cardiosense, a healthcare technology company focused AI-driven cardiac diagnostics in patients with Heart Failure. Under his leadership, Cardiosense has been recognized for its contributions to the advancement of non-invasive estimation of Pulmonary Capillary Wedge Pressure and was granted Breakthrough Device Designation by the FDA. Cardiosense has secured funding from notable investors including Broadview Ventures, Hatteras Venture Partners, and Laerdal Million Lives Funds.[3]

As a leading national figure in the CMS Hospital at Home initiative, Luke has played a crucial role in implementing the CMS Acute Hospital Care at Home Waiver at Northwestern Medicine which enables acute hospital care in a patient’s own home.[1]

Luke is actively involved in his faculty role for Northwestern course NUvention: Medical. Based on the BioDesign process, the course brings together students from Northwestern’s various schools to uncover an unmet need and then pursue the steps required for developing innovative medical technologies.[4]

Neill has authored/co-authored research on Biosensors & AI for Optimized Heart Failure Management as well as the application of Generative AI in the interpretation of radiographs, published in journals such as the Journal of the American College of Cardiology and JAMA Network Open. His work has been cited in high impact factor journals including Nature, Nature Medicine, Radiology and has contributed to advancements in the application of AI in medicine.[5][6]

Neill’s contributions to healthcare and medical technology have been featured in outlets including Forbes, The American Heart Association, and The Chicago Tribune.[7][8][9]
