Comment: Admittedly, there is potential here. But I think WP:TOOSOON applies and I would like to see more reliable sources (primarily ones listed at WP:VG/S) used. But regardless, we aren't sure if this will actually turn into a project or if it will forever remain a mere tech demo. Two more things to note are also that the article right now acts like this project is related to the previously teased "Minecraft successor", which appears to be a case of WP:SYNTH as there is no clear connection. The other thing would be Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Untitled Minecraft spiritual successor, where material related to the "Minecraft successor" was previously rejected and redirected. λ NegativeMP1 21:56, 28 June 2025 (UTC)

Levers and Chests is an early prototype of a voxel-based dungeon crawler video game, developed by Markus Persson, also known as Notch, the creator of Minecraft. The game is accessible directly through a web browser and features turn-based party exploration within a pixel-art dungeon setting.
The game was first revealed by Persson in a post on his personal Twitter (X) account on June 9, 2025. The tweet included a screenshot of the game interface showing four party members—Jace, Mark, The Truth, and Reverie—along with an inventory system, item list, and visible health bars.[1]
The games can be viewed through its official site lac.net, which currently hosts a welcome page in an interactive form. No official announcement has been made regarding a full release, platform expansion, or additional development plans.[2]
At the beginning of 2025 Persson decided to create a spiritual successor to Minecraft, referred to as "Minecraft 2", in response to the results of a poll on Twitter.[3][4][5] However, after speaking to his team, he shortly went against this in favour of developing the other choice on his twitter poll, a roguelike titled Levers and Chests.[6]
Development
[edit]While no publisher has been listed and no development blog exists, the appearance of the game on lac.net and its announcement by Persson mark his first public game prototype since the release of Minecraft.
