Lars Melander (born 1939) is a Swedish painter and graphic artist. His work has been the subject of published scholarship, notably the monograph Den rastlösa penseln: Lars Melanders liv, design och konst (2004) by art historian Gösta Arvidsson.[1] Melander’s works are represented in Swedish public museum collections, including Nationalmuseum and Moderna Museet.[2][3]

Early life and education

[edit]

Melander was born in Stockholm in 1939.[4] He studied at Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design, and later attended an evening course at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.[5]
