Kevin A. MacKenzie (born August 24, 1971) is a Canadian school trustee, author, and former federal political candidate. He currently serves as Chairperson of the Peterborough, Victoria, Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board (PVNCCDSB).
Early life and education
[edit]Kevin MacKenzie was born in Westmount, Québec on August 24, 1971. He converted to Catholicism in 2016. He is active in his local parish and serves as Chair of his church’s Finance Committee.[1]
Career
[edit]Trustee and board leadership
[edit]MacKenzie was first acclaimed as trustee for Clarington in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. He served as Vice Chairperson of the board from 2021 to 2022 and is the current Chairperson, elected in 2022.[2][3]
Federal politics and authorship
[edit]MacKenzie was the Green Party of Canada candidate for the Durham riding (now Bowmanville–Oshawa North) in the March 2024 federal by-election.[4] He is the author of 123 Ways to Get Motivated, published in August 2016, which became an Amazon Canada bestseller that year.[5]
Media appearances
[edit]MacKenzie has been interviewed multiple times on the Exit 425 podcast, discussing education and community issues.[6][7] He has also appeared in local and regional news coverage related to board policy decisions.[8]
Personal life
[edit]MacKenzie lives in Clarington, Ontario. He is active in his parish, serving on the Finance Committee of his church.
