Ziming (Jason) Wang, known professionally as Jaylious, is an Asian-American DJ and music producer celebrated for his distinctive blend of electronic music styles.[1]Known for combining dark, sinister choruses with energetic, danceable beats[2], he describes his sound as “stuck in a horror EDM movie.”[3] His work is recognized for emotionally resonant themes and powerful, cinematic drops. Jaylious is proficient in several instruments, including alto saxophone, keyboard, synthesizer, and various percussion instruments.[4]

Early Life
[edit]Jaylious was born in Fushun, China,[5] and moved to Singapore at the age of seven[6]. He spent much of his early life immersed in a variety of cultures before relocating to the United States at the age of fourteen. From a young age, he showed a strong passion for music, actively participating in school bands and learning multiple instruments. He later attended the University of California, Riverside, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology. During his university years, he cultivated a desire to create music that resonates on a deep emotional level, using his art as a medium to promote unity and understanding across diverse audiences.[7]
Career

[edit]In June 2024, Jaylious released his debut single, “Red Tent,” which served as a key milestone in launching his career as an independent artist.

“A Spectacle” achieved notable success by reaching #24 on the iTunes Alternative Daily Chart in Ireland in March 2025.[9]
Jaylious also earned recognition as the #1 local artist on ReverbNation, with a peak global ranking of #88.[10]
In July 2024, Jaylious released his debut concept album, "Sinister Sister," a dark and theatrical exploration of personal fears, insecurities, and haunting memories. The album showcases his signature horror-EDM aesthetic and includes standout tracks such as “Red Tent,” “No Spider,” “Femme Fatale,” and “A Spectacle.”[11]
On April 25 2025, he released the "Saturday EP" [12]— an emotionally driven project dedicated to the memory of his late dog.[13] This EP marked a tonal shift from his earlier work, revealing a more vulnerable and reflective side of Jaylious, while still maintaining his signature atmospheric production.[14]
Both releases highlight his versatility as a producer and storyteller, pushing the boundaries of genre and emotion[15].
