James C. McGhee (c. 1889 – May 14, 1970)[1] was a justice of the New Mexico Supreme Court from January 1, 1947 until his retirement on August 1, 1960.

Born near Vernon, Texas.[1]

McGhee died after a brief illness at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe at the age of 81.[1]

p. 64 He stated that being a justice of the Mississippi Supreme Court was isolating, comparing it to "taking the veil."[2]
