Integrated Control Technology

Integrated Control Technology (ICT) is a New Zealand-based manufacturer of unified electronic security systems, specialising in access control, intrusion detection, and building automation. Its platforms are deployed globally in commercial, healthcare, education, finance, and government sectors.[1]

History

ICT was founded in 2003 by Hayden and Rachael Burr in Auckland, New Zealand.[2][3]

In 2016, the company opened a European office in Amersham, UK, to expand its reach into the EMEA region.[4]

In March 2022, the private equity firm Advent Partners invested in ICT to support its international growth and product development.[5][6]

In early 2025, Andy Bane was appointed CEO of ICT.[7]

Products

ICT’s core offerings are built around its Protege platform:

  • Protege GX: An enterprise-grade system for access control and intrusion detection.
  • Protege WX: A web-based solution for small to medium-sized installations.
  • Protege X: A cloud-native system featuring mobile credentials and AI-based analytics.[8]

The company also produces controllers, card readers, and alarm devices. ICT systems are designed for interoperability with third-party video surveillance and building management technologies.[9]

The company is headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand, where it maintains its research, manufacturing, and customer support operations.[11] ICT serves more than 50 countries through regional offices in the United States (Denver), Canada (Toronto), Australia, Europe (UK), and Asia (Hong Kong, Dubai).[12]

Recognition

In 2023, ICT received the “Product of the Year” award at the Australian Security Industry Awards for Excellence.[13]
