iBUS Network & Infrastructure Private Limited is an Indian digital infrastructure company focused on in-building wireless connectivity and managed network solutions for commercial and institutional properties in India. The company provides indoor mobile coverage and enterprise Wi-Fi infrastructure for offices, technology parks, hospitality venues, and public institutions.[1]

History

[edit]

iBUS was founded in 2010 and initially focused on deploying indoor wireless connectivity solutions in commercial buildings, addressing gaps in mobile network coverage and enterprise Wi-Fi access.[2]

Over time, the company expanded its operations to include managed network services and neutral-host infrastructure supporting multiple mobile network operators within a single facility.

Investments and ownership

[edit]

In February 2024, the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) acquired a majority stake in iBUS in a transaction valued at approximately ₹1,600 crore, marking one of the larger investments in India’s in-building digital infrastructure sector.[3]

Later in 2024, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, invested ₹280 crore in the company to support the expansion of indoor digital connectivity infrastructure in India.[4]

Operations

[edit]

iBUS develops and manages in-building wireless systems that enable mobile connectivity and enterprise Wi-Fi within large indoor environments. Its infrastructure is deployed across commercial offices, IT parks, hospitality properties, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and select government buildings.[5]

Industry reporting has identified growing demand for indoor wireless and managed network solutions in India, driven by increasing mobile data usage within enclosed spaces, with iBUS noted as one of the companies operating in this segment.[1]
