Huntingtower School is an private school, co-educational day school located in Mount Waverley, Victoria, Australia, offering education from Prep to Year 12. Established in 1927, the school emphasizes Christian values and a holistic approach to education, aiming to nurture students' academic, spiritual, and personal growth. With approximately 730 students and 103 staff members, Huntingtower provides a supportive environment that fosters self-awareness and community engagement. The school's motto, "Nosce te Ipsum" ("Know thy true self"), reflects its commitment to developing well-rounded individuals through a comprehensive curriculum and diverse co-curricular activities.[1]
Huntingtower commenced as a co-educational boarding school in Huntingtower Road, Armadale in February 1927. Huntingtower was named after the original house built by John Crawley in 1858. Later, the twelve acre block was divided in half by Huntingtower Road. The fourteen room “gentlemans’ residence”, was purchased for the school in 1926. It is presumed that the house itself was itself named after Huntingtower Castle in Scotland.
HOSA is Huntingtower School's Alumni Program, committed to fostering friendships and providing opportunities for engagement among their membership of past students. They work to support both past students and the school as a whole, HOSA's activities include
- Reunion Programs
- Mentor Program
- Sporting Clubs & HOSA Sports Day
- Representation on School Board & Committees
- Pastoral Care
- Donations (e.g. to the Performing Arts Centre rebuild)
HOSA provides opportunities to promote and support social, business, and entrepreneurial networks amongst past students and supporters of Huntingtower, to nurture the aspirations of the Huntingtower student body and to support the strategic initiatives of Huntingtower School.
