Comment: Apple Music, Last.fm, Spotify, and Discogs can not be used as sources. The band's own website is not independent or secondary, does not show notability, and can only be used to a very limited extent to verify uncontroversial claims. bonadea contributions talk 19:36, 19 October 2025 (UTC)

Hourcast is an American hard rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. The group is known for their debut album, State of Disgrace (2006), and their follow-up, Dystopia (2010). Initially incorporating electronic elements, their later work adopted a heavier, more guitar-driven sound.
History
[edit]Formation and State of Disgrace (2004–2007)
[edit]Hourcast was formed in 2004 by drummer Jerry Clews and guitarist Dave Henriquez, who began developing early song material with Michall Ellenhart (synthesizers and electronics). After an extensive audition process, vocalist Patrick McBride joined, and bassist Dave Sullivan completed the lineup.[1]
The band signed with Alkamedia Records and released their debut album, State of Disgrace, in the summer of 2006.[2] The lead single, "Freeze", received national exposure and was featured on music video outlets such as Fuse’s Uranium and MTV’s Headbangers Ball. [3]
The track "Sakkara" was included in the Saw III soundtrack.[4] [5]
During this period, Hourcast toured with established rock bands including Godsmack, Breaking Benjamin, Sevendust, Volbeat, and Thirty Seconds to Mars.[6]
Critical response to State of Disgrace was mixed, however independent reviews (e.g., Sputnikmusic) praised its production quality and vocalist flexibility.[7]
Dystopia and later activity (2008–present)
[edit]After their debut, Hourcast shifted toward a heavier, more guitar-driven sound, reducing reliance on synth and electronics. Their second full-length release, Dystopia, reflects this evolution.[8]
As of 2025, the band continues to write and record new material, with plans for a forthcoming album release.[9]
Musical style
[edit]Hourcast’s music blends elements of hard rock, industrial rock, and alternative metal. Their early sound incorporated electronic textures and synthesizer layers, while later material emphasized heavier guitar riffs and a more stripped-down production style.
