hledger is free plain text accounting software[1], with command-line, terminal and web user interfaces. Double-entry accounting data is stored in plain text files with a simple format, or in CSV/SSV/TSV files.

hledger was inspired by Ledger and is largely compatible with it.[2] It is effectively a clean-room Haskell rewrite of Ledger with some different strengths.[3]

FLOSS Weekly interviewed Simon Michael in 2016.[4]
