Overview

[edit]

HIVED is a parcel delivery company operating in the United Kingdom[1], serving ecommerce retailers and businesses. Its network includes electric light goods vehicles (LGVs) and heavy goods vehicles (HGVs)[2]. The company manages delivery and routing through its proprietary platform, HIVEDmind.

Operations

[edit]

HIVED operates in between sites in East London and West London as well as hubs in the West Midlands. HIVED delivers for fashion, home and lifestyle brands, including Nespresso, Liberty of London, John Lewis and Gousto[3]. Each delivery experience is powered by an in-house and AI powered platform, HIVEDmind.

Investment and Growth

[edit]

In 2023, HIVED completed a Series A funding round led by Planet A Ventures[4][5]. A Series B round followed in 2025, led by NordicNinja[6][7]. Other investors have included Maersk Growth, Pale Blue Dot, Vex Venture Capital, Yamato Holdings, Marunouchi Innovation Partners, Elemental Impact, Future Back Ventures, Bain & Co Ventures and Rocketship VC.

Haulage and Trunking

[edit]

In 2025, HIVED began operating 44-tonne electric heavy goods vehicles (eHGVs) on trunking routes between London and the Midlands. The company described this as an extension of its network into long-distance freight operations using electric vehicles.

Reports in UK Haulier[8] and Parcel & Postal Technology International stated that HIVED operates the eHGVs daily on trunking routes and that the initiative represents one of the early commercial deployments of electric HGVs in the UK logistics sector.

In the same year, HIVED entered a partnership with the logistics platform TEG[9] to make its electric haulage capacity available to other logistics providers.

Sustainability and Impact

[edit]

HIVED’s delivery network consists entirely of electric vehicles. A 2023 Life Cycle Assessment found that deliveries made through HIVED could produce up to 76 percent lower carbon emissions compared with conventional diesel-based alternatives. The company has also collaborated with organisations researching road-transport impacts such as tyre particulate emissions.[10]
