Hafou Touré Samb (born May 21, 1992) is an Ivorian entrepreneur and financier.[1] She is the founder and chief executive officer of HTS Partners, a consulting firm based in Abidjan.
Early life and education
[edit]Touré Samb attended Sainte Marie de Cocody before moving to the United States, where she graduated from Central High School in New Jersey.
In 2010, she enrolled at Stony Brook University in New York, where she completed bachelor’s degrees in applied mathematics and statistics, and business management. She later obtained an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and, in 2018, a Master of Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School.[2]
Career
[edit]Touré Samb worked as an investment banking analyst at Moody’s in 2012 and as a senior consultant at Deloitte Advisory in 2014.[3][4] She has also worked with the International Finance Corporation and the African Development Bank.
In 2018, she founded HTS Partners, a firm advising on access to finance for SMEs.[1][3][5][6] Since 2020, she has served as a technical advisor to the Ivorian Minister for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises, Handicrafts, and the Transformation of the Informal Sector.[7][8] She has served on the boards of the Africa Fintech Forum and the MTN Foundation.[9]
Her consulting work with the World Bank–IFC Asset Management and the African Development Bank has included SME development programs. In these roles, she conducted financial and operational assessments of SMEs and prepared reports for the institutions.[10][11][12]
Touré Samb writes a column on women’s entrepreneurship for La Tribune Afrique.[13] She has appeared as a commentator on the Ivorian television program Parlons Business on NCI[14] and has been featured on Africa Business 24.[15]
Recognition
[edit]In 2021, Touré Samb was selected as a Leader by the French-African Foundation under the patronage of Emmanuel Macron.[6] She was also named an Atlantic Council Millennium Leadership Fellow.[16]
