Gaurav Dwivedi is an Indian film and television actor , Theater artist and a former Radio Jockey. He is an FTII (Film and Television Institute of India), Pune alumni [1]. He has worked in Commercials, TV series, Web series, short films and in both mainstream and independent movies.

He started his career with renowned director Ketan Mehta's film Rang Rasiya[2], in which he played Raja Ravi Varma's younger brother, Raj Varma[3][4], receiving very good reviews for his debut work.

He further gained popularity with his main lead role as "Gora"[5][6] in the DD national TV series Gora, which is based on the novel Gora by Rabindranath Tagore. He another notable work is as a journalist [7]in the Bollywood movie Manjhi - The Mountain Man[8][9]

He worked in more Bollywood movies such as Inkaar, Hawaizaada, Toba Tek Singh, For Here or to Go? and Indian web series such as Crime Beat[10], Human, Criminal Justice, Hush Hush[11], Made in Heaven and in short films such as Man, Yari road, Broken Flowers, The Desert Son, Still Voices, Bombay summer and Rasiya.

He is also featured in many commercials including ICICI Prudential Insurance, HPL LED lighting, Bank of India Home Loans, Honda Amaze, Tata Salt , Kissanpur.com - An initiative by Kissan, Uninor Unlimited Music, and Sony Pal channel.[citation needed]

Career

Gaurav Dwivedi is an Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering graduate. He had plans to pursue a Masters degree from Australia, but his urge for creativity brought him back to India. He settled in Delhi and started working in Red FM as an RJ and also hosted shows on All India Radio. Further chase towards his dreams, brought him to FTII Pune to pursue acting. He cleared the challenging process of selection and completed the Acting course from FTII Pune in the 2005 -2008 batch.[citation needed]

During a theatre performance, his wide range of emotional spectrum was recognized by director Ketan Mehta,[citation needed] leading to his casting as Raja Ravi Varma's younger brother in the film Rang Rasiya. Thereon, his journey took over to playing the main lead Gora in the acclaimed DD National TV series Gora.

His short films Bombay Summer and Still Voices were featured in the film festival India International Film Festival of Tampa Bay.[citation needed]

He worked with many renowned directors like Vikram Aditya Motwani, Sudhir Mishra, Pradeep Sarkar, Somnath Sen, Tanuja Chandra, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Vipul Amrutlal Shah , and brilliant actors like Paresh Rawal, Juhi Chawla, Pankaj Kapoor, Randeep Hooda, Vinay Pathak, Rucha Inamdar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vikrant Massey, Shefali Shah and Neena Gupta.

His work was widely recognized and praised in the industry as well as in various film festivals.[citation needed] He is a versatile actor[12][better source needed] and an eloquent orator and writer. He conducts acting workshops also.[citation needed]

Personal Life

He lives in Mumbai, India. He is divorced and has a daughter named Saman Veda born in 2017.[citation needed]
