History

[edit]

The MBE Worldwide group, now Fortidia[2], was founded in 2009 with the acquisition of the existing Mail Boxes Etc. network from UPS worldwide, excluding the United States and Canada. MBE Worldwide subsequently expanded across Western Europe, establishing a direct presence in France in 2012, Poland in 2014, and the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland in 2021.

Over the years, the group has expanded its operations through strategic acquisitions, venturing into sectors such as e-commerce, digital solutions, printing, and marketing.

  • 2012: The group established a direct presence in France with the Mail Boxes Etc. brand.
  • 2014: The group established a direct presence in Poland with the Mail Boxes Etc. brand.
  • 2017: Two U.S. companies, AlphaGraphics and PostNet, were acquired.[3]
  • 2020: An agreement was signed with funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. to acquire up to a 40% ownership interest in MBE Worldwide through a restricted capital increase to support further growth.[4]
  • 2021: The group acquired PACK & SEND (Australia, New Zealand, and the UK), Multicopy (Netherlands), and PrestaShop, an e-commerce platform.[5]
  • 2022: GEL Proximity (Italy) and World Options (UK, US, Australia, Netherlands, and Belgium) were acquired.[6]
  • 2023: The group acquired 100% of the share capital of PACK & SEND UK and PACK & SEND New Zealand from former Master Licensees.
  • 2024: MBE Worldwide changed its group brand identity to Fortidia. [7] [8] This operation consolidated the group's international positioning in the e-commerce, fulfillment, shipping, marketing, and print sectors.

As of 31 December 2024, Fortidia had nearly 3,100 locations in 57 countries, with total sales of €1.4 bln SwR.[9]
