FaeTerra is an auto battler video game developed and published by Solfiregames. will be released on Steam for Microsoft Windows on May 7, 2025. FaeTerra is a free-to-play auto-battler game developed and published by Solfire Games. Set in a vibrant fantasy world, the game combines elements of deckbuilding, team management, and strategic battling, featuring 121 unique creatures known as "Fae."
Mechanics In FaeTerra, players assemble teams of Fae, each possessing distinct abilities and elemental types. The game emphasizes strategic planning, where players must craft synergies between their Fae to defeat opponents in PvP battles. Players can evolve their Fae by combining those of the same evolutionary line or using XP orbs, enhancing their strength, boosting stats and abilities.
The game offers a custom build system, allowing players to select up to 30 creatures for their deck. Additionally, players can apply a creature to a "gold slot," changing the starter of their build. Starter creatures gain 1xp free every round, automating the evolution process. Allowing players to focus on their other Fae's. Classes are chose at the beginning of each match and provide a small buff to Faes that associate the same elements as your chosen class boosting attack and HP values by +1. This is a small way to maximize your build and gain a small but effective upper hand in battle.
Gameplay The game consists of multiple turns which have two phases, the management phase and the battle phase. During the management phase, players manage their team before going into the battle phase by buying new Faes, equipping items, increasing their XP, and switching the positions of the Faes from top to bottom. Players have 10 gold at the start of each management phase, which are used to buy Faes, consumables, and to roll to refresh their shop Faes. Players can gain gold by selling Faes or by using certain abilities of Faes with gold-generating abilities. In PVP players will have 1 minute 30 seconds to complete this phase. In PVE there are no timers.
The battle phase begins after the player or "both players" has/have ended their turn. In this phase, the Faes battle each other automatically without player input. When a Fae faints, the next slotted teammate takes the place of the fainted Fae. This repeats until one or both of the teams has no Faes left, at which point the turn results in a win, loss, or draw. If the player wins, they receive a Medal. If they lose, they lose a life point. If they draw, their life points remain unchanged. The player wins the game when they obtain 7 Medals or win 7 rounds.
Game modes include Ranked PVP casual PVP and PVE mode.
In PVE mode players will instantly match with an AI and able to practice their build strategies without the pressure of a timer. Or wanting to casually complete challenges to progress their player leveling unlocking new features and gaining currencies to purchase more Faes in the index before engaging in ranked PVP.
FaeTerra is completely free to play with in app purchases. The IAP includes a in game currency allowing players to essentially skip the "long grind" in unlocking all Faes. However all Faes can be unlocked through playing the game and earning Faecoins. Purchasing the battle pass will boost currency rewards and unlock cosmetic rewards (Alt art skins) in later levels of the premium pass. Class packs can be purchased unlocking a new class and starter for you to use in your custom builds. Fae pack bundles are offered for a lump sum of "Shadow coins" (the premium currency in FaeTerra) to purchase and unlock a large amount of Faes in 1 purchase. The Index offers 73 Faes currently in the 1.0 version of FaeTerra which will increase over time with new seasonal updates.
Solfiregames has massive plans moving forward with FaeTerra, we hope to bring new game modes and features to FaeTerra shortly after release, if our initial feedbacks are positive and player and community health is in good standing. Our 2025 roadmap includes: Interactive tutorial Arena mode a asynchronous multiplayer where players match against other players builds in a more casual setup than versus game modes. Custom games allowing for custom rule setups creating a whole new way to play FaeTerra. Trials of the Citadel Will be our largest feature with a full PVE experience similar to Pokémon's battle tower.
