From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ethis Global Berhad is a Malaysian-based venture builder that focuses on fintech platforms and investment firms with a particular emphasis on Islamic finance[1]. The company holds multiple regulatory licenses for fund management, peer-to-peer (P2P) financing, and equity crowdfunding in various countries across Asia and the Middle East[2]. Ethis develops and operates digital finance platforms designed to facilitate ethical investments, often aligning with Islamic financial principles.

The company supports projects across sectors such as real estate development (particularly affordable housing), trade finance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), startup funding, and charitable initiatives. Its platforms aim to broaden access to alternative investments by offering debt- and equity-based financial products[3], with an emphasis on financial inclusion and sustainability.

History

[edit]

Ethis was established in Singapore in 2014 by Umar Munshi, who co-founded the company with Ronald Yusuf Wijaya. The company originated as Club Ethis, a private investor network focusing on impact investments in Indonesia. Driven by increasing demand for halal investment opportunities, it quickly expanded its presence in the region.

In 2016, Ethis entered the Malaysian market, and in 2018, Ethis Global Sdn Bhd was incorporated. It later transitioned into an unlisted public company, Ethis Global Berhad, in 2023.
