History
[edit]Equisoft was founded in 1994 by Luis Romero.[2] In its early years, the company focused on life insurance and investment technology and gradually expanded its product offerings and international presence.
The company has expanded through acquisitions, including Universal Conversion Technologies (UCT) in 2016, Kronos Technologies in 2018, and UK-based Altus in 2021. In 2023, Equisoft acquired Canadian insurtech CompuOffice Software, which provides life insurance illustration tools.[3] In 2025, Equisoft acquired U.S.-based VisCalc to enhance its offerings for small and mid-sized life insurers.[4]
In 2023, Equisoft raised US$125 million in growth equity funding to accelerate acquisitions and international expansion.[5][6][7]
Global Operations and Partnerships
[edit]Equisoft operates in over 18 countries and collaborates with regional and international organizations. In Latin America, it partnered with Seguros SURA to launch a new core insurance platform in Colombia.[8]
In the UK, Equisoft’s Pension Fusion platform has been cited as playing a role in connecting schemes to pension dashboards.[9][10]
In Australia, Equisoft joined CALI (Council of Australian Life Insurers) as its first corporate partner under a digital solutions initiative.[11][12]
In the United States, Equisoft's technology has been adopted by clients such as Family Guardian Insurance Company and NGL, enhancing preneed life and policy illustration capabilities.[13][14]
