The Electronic Database of Sumerian Divine Epithets (EDSDE) is an online open access database of divine Epithets excerpted from Sumerian literary texts and royal inscriptions from the Old Sumerian to the Old Babylonian period (circa 2500-1600 BCE). The project has been funded by the European Union within the frame of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action in the years 2022-2024[1] and is based at the Institute of Ancient Near Studies of the University of Leipzig.

The database is both browsable and searchable and offers semantic and grammatical information valuable for studying Sumerian epithets as well as ancient Mesopotamian deities. Each entry includes a preliminary analysis of the divine aspect conveyed by the epithet, its grammatical structure, and its core meaning. The database also notes the role of the passage in which each epithet appears.
