ESG Summit Europe is an annual conference focused on sustainability and governance, held in Madrid, Spain.[1]
Founded in 2022 by Mónica Rico, the summit aims to bring together professionals from corporate, financial, regulatory, and non-governmental sectors. Its agenda covers subjects such as sustainable finance, regulatory frameworks, impact investing, climate-related challenges, and the role of innovation in advancing sustainability goals.[2]
The event has received coverage from independent media outlets that have reported on its discussions, regulatory insights, and industry perspectives related to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards and practices.[3][4][5]
History

[edit]The ESG Summit Europe was established in 2022 to create a forum for dialogue on sustainability and governance. The first edition was held in September 2023 at Cibeles Palace in Madrid.[6]
It featured speakers from regulatory bodies such as the CNMV and IOSCO, who addressed topics including climate regulation, ESG data transparency, and greenwashing risks.[7][8]
2024
[edit]The second edition took place at Albéniz Theater in Madrid on October 1–2, 2024, under the theme "Sustainability in Action." It featured participation from public institutions such as the United Nations, the European Investment Bank, and the European Commission, addressing topics including market regulation, European sustainability policies, investment strategies, and supply chains.[9][10]
2025
[edit]The upcoming third edition is scheduled for October 7–8, 2025, at the Teatro Príncipe Pío in Madrid. The event will focus on "Innovation for Sustainability," highlighting the role of technological advancements in addressing environmental and social challenges.[11]
ESG Summit Forest
[edit]In partnership with Treedom, the summit promotes the ESG Summit Forest initiative, supporting tree planting projects aimed at reducing carbon emissions, promoting biodiversity, and providing benefits to local communities through sustainable development.[12]
